Veterans Day- a day to pause and give thanks to those who served our nation

The Avenue News - - EDITORIAL -

Their bodies which lie in every foreign land

and in the great oceans and seas of the world

ser ve as an everlasting testimonial of the great love

these men and women-our veterans-had for this land called America. Today, as always, we honor them;

not only will this nation and its people forevermore be in their debt, but so will mankind in general;

for their sacrifices have allowed

the world and its people to dream forever of the vision of freedom. “We sincerely recognize this day

that time will not dim the glory of their deeds.”

And as they fought and died, if need be in the future, others will rise to defend liberty and freedom. As long as this nation survives-and it will survivetheir sacred deeds and valor will never be forgotten,

for we live in freedom because of those American veterans

who selflessly gave-their time, efforts and their lives

that others might live in peace and dignity.
