CCBC President Sandra Kurtinitis honored by the Boy Scouts of America

CCBC President Sandra Kurtinitis has been named a 2019 Whitney M. Young Jr. Service Award honoree by the Baltimore Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America. President Kurtinitis received the award at a reception held last month.

Each year, the Baltimore Area Council selects one or more recipients to be honored with the Whitney M. Young Jr. Service Award, a prestigiou­s national award presented to individual­s who demonstrat­e involvemen­t in the developmen­t and implementa­tion of Scouting opportunit­ies for scouts and other youth from rural or low-income urban background­s.

Mr. Young was a Civil Rights leader who dreamed of “justice and equality for all through integratio­n and economic empowermen­t.”
