NASARIA SALINAS

Nasaria Salinas was born January 20, 1930, in Cerralvo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, to Eulojio Salinas and Narcisa Martinez. She was a loving, strong willed, mother, grandmothe­r, great grandmothe­r, and great great grandmothe­r. She was 91 years old.

Though she did not have a formal education, she developed a passion for writing poems. She also enjoyed traveling, especially to the casinos, and she loved to play poker. If you came to visit her, you better bring your poker money. She was also an avid music lover, collecting classical music albums as well as her favorite Mexican artists going back at least 70+ years.

Nasaria is preceded in death by her mother, father, husband Leonel Saenz, daughter Ninfa Navarro Perez, and son Javier Navarro.

She is survived by seven children: Jesus Navarro Jr. (Margaret), Julian Navarro Sr. (Terri), Nora Perez (Eberardo), Norma Navarro, Joel Navarro (Maria), Fernando Saenz (Mary), and Guadalupe Williams (Donald, numerous grandchild­ren, great grandchild­ren, and several great great grandchild­ren. Our mother will be greatly missed and will live in our hearts forever. Viewing will be at Greenlawn Southwest Chapel, April 20th, from 4:00pm – 8:00pm, with a Rosary at 6:00pm. Funeral Mass will be April 21st at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church on California Ave., at 10:00am, followed bu interment at Greenlawn Southwest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.
