Does getting braces hurt?
Getting braces is a pain-free procedure. In fact, most people can’t even feel them going on! Sometimes patients come to our office worried that getting braces is going to hurt — and then they leave pleasantly surprised! Once the teeth begin moving, the teeth will start to feel sore — but getting the braces on is nothing to worry about!
How long is the typical orthodontic treatment? How often would I have to come in?
Although every treatment plan is different, most cases traditionally take between 12 and 24 months — although some are shorter and a few are longer. Because of Dr. Cardall’s advanced procedures and techniques, you will only come in for appointments about every 10 weeks!
Are braces just for cosmetics, or do they really affect your dental health?
Dental health is the leading reason many of our patients begin orthodontic treatment. Having a bite that fits together properly often eliminates issues such as premature wear, hard-to-clean areas, gum inflammation or recession, food impaction sites, cheek biting, difficulty chewing, and jaw joint pain.
Am I too old? Do you treat adults too?
You are never too old to get the smile of your dreams! Almost half of our patients are adults. The most common comment we get from adults after finishing their treatment is “I wish I would have done it sooner!”
How much do braces cost?
We recognize that every smile is different — so every smile receives its own custom treatment plan. Likewise, your investment in braces or clear aligner therapy is customized based on the severity of the problem and length of treatment. Dr. Cardall meets with each patient during their free initial consultation, and together they determine a treatment plan that will best achieve the desired outcome.
Do clear aligners cost more than braces?
In general, clear aligners are priced the same as braces — the only exception being if a particular case required a considerably longer treatment length in aligners than braces.
Do you offer financing?
Yes! Dr. Cardall feels strongly that finances should not get in the way of your need for orthodontic treatment. We offer customized, 0%-interest payment plans, along with low down payments,
Why not do aligners that you can order online? Do those work?
While it seems convenient to order clear aligners online, you are putting the health of your teeth and gums at risk. Your treatment is not monitored by a trained orthodontist. In fact, it’s usually not monitored at all! Some of the teeth may get straighter — but the bite often gets worse, which can actually create more severe issues than the crooked teeth you started with!
Do you accept insurances?
Yes, we accept the benefit of all PPO insurances.
Is your fee all-inclusive?
Yes! Unlike many offices, we don’t believe in “nickel-and-diming.” When you come in for your free consultation, you will be presented with an all-inclusive investment amount that will cover everything from start to finish — even if your treatment takes longer than expected, your child breaks brackets, you cancel appointments, etc. And your retainers are included in the price!
