CAROL JUNE WILCOX
1937 – 2023
Carol June (Mosley) Wilcox was born in Bristow, Oklahoma in 1937 and passed away in Bakersfield, California on November 26, 2023.
Carol moved to California as a young child and was always proud to call herself a BHS Driller. She met the love of her life Neil Wilcox in high school and married him in 1960. They were married 51 years.
Carol graduated from Cal State Bakersfield with a B.A. in Psychology, Minor in Religious Studies and a M.A. in Education-Counseling and Personnel Services. She blessed Bakersfield and San Luis Obispo with many years of private counseling practice. She was deeply humbled and honored to walk life's path with individuals through their challenging journeys. She loved leading seminars on laughter therapy and using laughter to help restore others to abundant life.
Carol loved to travel, loved serving others, loved her family fiercely and loved living her life for Jesus while serving as a Deacon at church, on the Advisory Board for Youth for Christ, teaching Sunday school, serving on the Kern High School Board of Trustees, and in her counseling. Her life's relationships and work all grew from her foundation of faith in Jesus.
Carol is survived by her children Kendall (Karen) Wilcox, Amy (Danny) DeWalt, and Diane (Rob) Sausedo; grandchildren Stephanie (Tyler), Melissa, Hannah (Ford), Jenna, and Elizabeth; three great-granddaughters Ember, Selah and Lily; brother Jerry Mosley and sister Elizabeth Mosley Blakely, and many nieces and nephews.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband Neil Wilcox, her parents O.H. and Georgia Mosley, seven siblings: Jack, Norma, Charles, Orval, Kenneth, Donald, and James.
If you knew Carol you knew how generous she was. Not only with her time, but also financially. She loved giving to causes that brought healing and help to those in need. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to an organization that will directly benefit the life of another.
