La Quinta – Alan Stubblefield, born on January 9, 1955, in Bakersfield, CA, transitioned to Heaven on November 28, 2023, peacefully from his home in La Quinta, CA. Alan was kind, generous, and honorable, with an unmatched sense of humor and zest for life. Above all, he embodied every aspect of his roles as an adoring husband, a loving father, and a steadfast friend, casting a radiant light that inspired everyone fortunate enough to meet and know him. A lifelong musician, Alan was a skilled guitar player and an avid collector who played in classic rock bands since childhood. As much as his guitar collection was a source of pride, he also delighted in sharing tales of flying crop duster planes over his hometown of Bakersfield.

A natural entrepreneur, Alan successfully owned and operated Advanced Seiling & Supply Company until its acquisition in 2014 where he retired in La Quinta, CA. Through his career, Alan held many awards and accolades, even notably securing a renowned Engineering Patent that revolutionized the industry. Alan was a universally known and loved cornerstone of his community. Generous with his time and always ready to extend a helping hand or a warm smile, he exemplified the spirit of selflessness. The sentiment shared among family and friends is unanimous: “If you needed him, he was there in a moment's notice.”

Family held the highest place in Alan's heart. Married to the love of his life, Gayle, for 31 years, his passion and adoration for her was palpable to all who witnessed their connection. Quite inseparable, the pair loved hosting big holiday dinners for family and loved ones and shared a love for life, anyone who met them knew they were a perfect pair.

Alan was a mentor and wonderful father to four daughters, embracing the role of a cherished and active grandfather to six grandchildren who adored their Papa Alan. Alan's guidance was marked by empathy and endless inspiration, shaping the lives of his children. He was “everything” to his four girls and a true hero in their eyes.

When not with family or friends cooking one of his famous lasagna dishes or his world-renowned mashed potatoes, he could be found on the golf course, perfecting his game with the unwavering dedication he applied to everything he took on in life. Alan's happy place was the golf course where you could find him with his buddies teeing off, but not before breakfast with his palsa group that they coined the “Breakfast Club”.

Alan's cherished Labrador, Buster, was a constant companion by his side. Inseparable and the best of friends, their bond was unmistakable. Anyone acquainted with Alan was undoubtedly familiar with his exceptional pup and Alan certified Buster as his emotional support dog, to make sure he never missed out on an adventure.

Living life on his own terms, Alan's beaming smile would always encourage a similar expression on your face, and his distinctive, unforgettable laughter echoed through every joyous moment of his vibrant life.

Alan is survived by his beloved Gayle and four daughters: Corey, Wendy, Cherie, and Michele and six grandchildren: Rhyan, Mason, Reese, Regan, Cherie and Vince “Big Red” along with his brother Paul and mother, Patsy. In the hearts of those who knew him, he will forever be remembered as “The best dad, papa and husband in the world.”
