ERIC MATTHEW BANDUCCI

March 8, 1953 – December 9, 2023

Eric was 70 years old when he passed away after a brief illness, on December 9th, 2023, in Bakersfield. Eric Matthew Banducci was born on March 8th, 1953, to Benidict (Ben) and Isabel (Issy) Banducci in Bakersfield, California. He grew up in Old River, graduated 8th grade from Saint Francis School, and attended West High School where he played football. Eric married his longtime girlfriend Diane in 1973 and had two daughters Crystal and Katie. During high school he worked changing tires at Sears. In 1973 he opened a mobile tire repair service. During this time, he also worked at the Lerdo Jail where he became interested in law enforcement. Eric went through P.O.S.T. training and became a deputy in 1977. He worked 33 years for the Sheriff's Department, retiring as a Sergeant in 2010. He married Cathy in 1994. Eric enjoyed coffee, going to the beach with his children and visiting with family and friends. He would spend hours in his shop tinkering and making different things. Eric is survived by his son Brandon, daughter Katie (Matt), and grandchildren Brian, Brady and Bennet, brothers, Tim (Marilyn), Gavin (Patty), and Damin (Christine), aunts, Margaret (Don), Donna and Nancy. Eric is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many cousins who will greatly miss him. Eric was preceded in death by his daughter Crystal, brother Brian, Benidict, Isabel, Cathy, and Diane. The family would like to thank Eric's wonderful neighbors Randy and Rose Anne for their unwavering friendship. Services will be held Wednesday, December 20th, 2023 at 8:30 am at St Francis Church, 900 H St. Bakersfield.
