ALAN HUNGERFORD

August 9, 1958 – November 28, 2023

-

Alan Hungerford went to join his sister Darla, Mom Beverly and Dad Millard. Alan left behind on earth his brother Ralph Hungerford (Tricia RIP), and his sisters Linda Hood (Fred), Debra Jackson (Bruce) and Gayla Parker and lots of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Alan lived for many years more than anyone thought possible after a terrible car accident when he was 16 years old. Alan loved cars. His knowledge of the muscle cars of the 70s was beyond belief. He loved going to the annual NSRA car show and telling everyone around him what transmission, engine size and rear end that each car had regardless of the make or model. He was never wrong. Alan was an avid NASCAR fan and could tell you stories about all the drivers.

Throughout his life, he was challenged with so many health issues because of his earlier car accident, but he fought through those challenges. He was on a bowling league with whom he enjoyed numerous camping trips and trips to the central coast. He was always available to come to the aid of his family and friends when he could.

Alan will be sorely missed by his siblings, especially Linda who spent so much time helping him with his medications and shopping/luncheon trips. Thanks to the staff at Adult Literacy, especially Fran, for the many volunteer hours spent going out of their way to assist Alan in his reading and socialization skills.

There is no service for Alan, as he will be honored later by his close family members. Rest peacefully in God's love until we meet again my brother.
