BC exhibition to highlight more than 60 student artists
A wide display of student art is on display now in the 2024 Bakersfield College Art Student Exhibition.
Today, an opening reception will be held for the juried art show of 90 artworks at the Wylie and May Louise Jones Gallery.
Juried by London-based artist Jaime Gili, the exhibition features student-made artworks created in BC art courses using a variety of media including charcoal drawings, acrylic paintings, photography, graphic design, ceramics, video and more.
Sixty-four artists are taking part in the show. Pieces include Ashley Hernandez’s “Stairs,” Ben Lentz’s “Together,” Eric Eaton’s “Chromatic Vision” and “Passenger Side Window” by Ethan Flores.

The reception will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the gallery on the college’s Panorama campus, 1801 Panorama Drive.

This exhibition remains on display through April 18. Gallery hours are 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday and Wednesday, 12:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.
