BPD looks for missing 15-year-old girl

A teenage girl went missing around 11 p.m. Friday in the 2700 block of Morin Court, according to the

Bakersfiel­d

Gutierrez, age 15, is described by BPD as Hispanic, 5 feet and 1 inch tall and 130 pounds. She was last seen wearing all black clothing, according to BPD.

The Bakersfiel­d Police Department is looking for an

at-risk man who has been missing since he was last seenSunday in the 3300 block of Bernard Street.

Steve Uribe, 35, is described by BPD as Hispanic, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 175 pounds with short brown hair and green eyes. He was last seen wearing a grey sweatshirt, black pants, blue baseball hat and white shoes, according to BPD.

The Kern County coroner’s office identified the man

who was shot and killed in the 1000 block of Clyde Street around 2:30 a.m. Jan. 16.

Roger Alan Maestas, 39, of Bakersfiel­d died from a gunshot wound to the chest and his death is considered a homicide, according to the coroner.

The pedestrian who was hit by a car and died Feb. 21 in

the 2500 block of Columbus Street was identified Monday by the Kern County coroner’s office.

Jonathan Chaidez Soto, 32, of Bakersfiel­d died from blunt injuries at the scene and his death is considered an accident, the coroner’s office reported. According to the Bakersfiel­d Police Department, preliminar­y investigat­ion revealed that Soto was hit by a dark sedan. BPD said the driver fled before officers arrived.

The Kern County coroner’s office confirmed Monday an

inmate who was attacked by eight others Feb. 5 at Kern Valley State Prison died later at Adventist Health in Delano from multiple stab wounds.

Juan Carlos Trujillo, 50, of Delano was stabbed in the prison yard by a group of inmates using inmate-manufactur­ed weapons, according to the California Department of Correction­s and Rehabilita­tion.

Trujillo was sentenced to 29 years in prison in Los Angeles County in 2008 for second-degree robbery with enhancemen­ts for using a gun and having a prior felony conviction.

CDCR alleged Trujillo was attacked by Kevin Barrera, 29; Javier Castaneda, 37; Eric Castilleja, 34; Zackary Holguin, 25; Daniel Mendivil, 45; Edwin Perez, 36; Kevin Tello, 34; and Robert Toki, 32. The group of inmates were convicted in various counties and are serving various sentences in prison.

The eight inmates were convicted of various charges that include second-degree murder, manslaught­er, assault with a deadly weapon, firearms charges, robbery and carjacking. CDCR reported Castaneda, Holguin, Perez, Tello and Toki also have a history of attacking inmates while incarcerat­ed.
