Man found guilty of throwing human feces at correction­s officers

An inmate at Kern Valley State Prison in Delano was found guilty of throwing human feces at correction­al officers in 2019, the Kern County District Attorney’s Office announced Friday.

Emanuel Lewis Boone, 34, was found guilty of two counts of aggravated battery by gassing on a correction­al officer, one count of possession of an inmate manufactur­ed weapon, and one count of preventing or deterring officers from carrying out their duties, according to the DA.

On Jan. 28, 2019, Boone complained about abdominal pain while being taken to Kings County for a court hearing. Boone was instead taken to a hospital, where doctors removed a 3½-inch inmate-manufactur­ed weapon from Boone’s rectal cavity, according to the DA.

On Feb. 13, 2019, officers came to Boone’s cell to move him to a new housing facility and Boone threw human feces at the officers. When officers tried to detain him, Boone thrashed around.

Boone had several prior violent crime conviction­s in Los Angeles County in 2008, 2013, 2014 and 2016, according to the DA. He was scheduled to be released in February 2050 but he faces up to 25 years to life in prison with the new conviction. His sentencing is scheduled for May 1.

A 76-year-old man who went missing from the

5900 block of Sunny Palms Avenue on Thursday is considered at risk because of his cognitive level and a medical condition, according to the Bakersfiel­d Police Department.

Gordon Larson is described by the BPD as white, about 6 feet tall, 200 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt, blue pants and tan sandals, according to the BPD.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a

15-year-old boy who went missing in Shafter on Dec. 10.

Victor Miramontes is described by the KCSO as Hispanic, about 5 feet, 7 inches tall, 120 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a gray sweater and blue jeans.

Five people were arrested around 5 p.m. Thursday in

the 2200 block of North Baker Street on outstandin­g warrants during an investigat­ion into an illegal gambling operation, according to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office.

A man was arrested on suspicion of drug sales and

gang charges Wednesday in the 3300 block of Pasadena Street, according to the Kern County District Attorney’s Office.

Joshua Lostaunau, 44, was arrested after DA investigat­ors, Kern County Probation Department officers and a Kern High School District Police

K-9 officer conducted a probation search. Officers found more than 70 grams of methamphet­amine, cash and other indicators of narcotics sales, according to the DA.

After arresting a man Monday on suspicion of

copper wire theft, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office arrested a different man for the theft Thursday.

David Christophe­r Cook, 46, of McKittrick was arrested Thursday in the Lake Isabella area and was booked into Kern County jail on suspicion of buying junker metal illegally and conspiracy to commit a crime, according to the KCSO.

The arrest comes after deputies conducted a search in the 22700 block of E Street in McKittrick on Monday and found about 450 pounds of copper wire, suspected methamphet­amine, drug parapherna­lia and equipment used to strip insulation from electrical wire, according to the KCSO.

Deputies arrested Joshua Green, 35, of Taft on Monday on suspicion of possessing copper wire without due diligence, obstructin­g a peace officer, possessing a controlled substance and possessing drug parapherna­lia. According to the KCSO’s website, Green was not in custody as of Friday morning.

The California­n contacted the KCSO for comment whether Green is still a suspect, but did not receive an immediate response.

A man was convicted Thursday of felony stalking,

violating a court protective order against a victim and obstructin­g a peace officer, according to the Kern County District Attorney’s Office.

Martin Raymond Lopez, 40, was previously convicted of stalking the victim on Sept. 7, 2022. On Sept. 26, while on probation, he violated a court protective order when he went to the victim’s home, shoved her into a fence and went into her house.

Four days later, Lopez followed the victim to a store and broke the rear window on her car. The next day, he took some tools from the victim’s house, the DA’s office said.

On Oct. 16, he demanded to come into the victim’s house or he would break the window. Lopez was finally arrested on Oct. 22 after a 30-minute standoff with a Kern County Sheriff’s Office K-9 and air unit.

Lopez faces up to 10 years in prison at his May 1 sentencing.
