-

A man was arrested on suspicion of possessing child sexual abuse material Thursday after months of investigation into a case of juvenile sexual exploitation, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.

Adrian Gallardo, 26, was booked into jail Thursday on suspicion of possessing child pornography. He was previously arrested by BPD Tuesday on suspicion of human trafficking of a juvenile, procuring a juvenile for lewd acts, lewd acts with a juvenile 10 years old or younger, and pandering of a juvenile under 16. However, he posted bond the next day.

BPD asks that anyone with information on this incident or who knows of anyone currently being sexually exploited call BPD at 661-327-7111 or the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 888-373-7888.

A man was found guilty of stabbing a man to death after he and two others beat the

victim in July 2018, according to the Kern County District Attorney’s Office.

A jury found Timon Everidge guilty of first-degree murder after he stabbed Sergio Mendoza to death. Everidge and two others, Nathaniel Mayfield and Steven Buckner, saw Mendoza walking along 19th Street and chased him for no reason, according to the DA.

Everidge tackled Mendoza and Mayfield and Buckner started punching and kicking Mendoza. Everidge used a pocket knife to stab Mendoza in the chest, back and head. Mendoza died at the corner of 19th and V streets, according to the DA.

Everidge admitted to officers after he was arrested that he stabbed Mendoza because he was

“just in that mood.” During the trial, Everidge said he made those statements in alignment with the lifestyle he was living at the time and admitted to being in a street gang.

Everidge faces up to 26 years to life in prison at his sentencing scheduled for June 6. Mayfield and Buckner previously pleaded no contest to assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury and face up to six years in prison. Their sentencing is scheduled for April 17.

The Bakersfield Police Department is looking for an at-risk woman who went missing

around 6 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of Ginger Snap Lane.

Mariah Flett, 18, is described by BPD as white, 5 feet, 2 inches tall, 110 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing black tights and an unknown color top, according to BPD.

Flett is considered at-risk due to an intellectual disability, according to BPD.

BPD asks that anyone with information call 661-327-7111.
