DONNA BISHOP ROBERTS

March 19, 1944 – April 11, 2024

We are sad to announce the passing of our mom, Donna Bishop Roberts at the age of 80. Donna was the only child of Bert and Ruby Bishop. She was raised in the McFarland/Delano area and graduated from Delano High School, Class of 1962. She married Tom Roberts, her 4th grade boyfriend, after reconnecting after graduation. They were married for 52 years until his passing in 2016. Being a wife and mother was her greatest joy and what a wonderful mom she was. No one will love us kids as much as her. She lived in Porterville, Terra Bella, Bear Valley Springs in Tehachapi and Bakersfield. A huge part of her life was her love of animals, especially the many, many dogs she had throughout her life. She also had cats, horses, chickens and many aquariums full of fish. She was a fantastic dancer, an amazing artist and a photographer. Mom was a lover of TV and faithfully watched Hallmark, HGTV, news and weather. Books, magazines and all kinds of trees and plants were loved by her. Her Delano, Class of 1962 reunions were some of her most fun times. Mom loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and led a blessed and happy life. She leaves behind her children, Shana (Scott) Wood, Shelly (Eric) Sheldon, Van (Stephanie) Roberts and her grandchildren, Eve and Clay Sheldon, Jamie and Garrett Wood and Callum Roberts. Her 3 dogs will greatly miss her too. Services will be private in Porterville. A donation in honor of her love for animals to The Kern County Animal Shelter would be appreciated. Even better, save a life and adopt a shelter dog.
