Thomas E. Hamil­ton, Jr., 92, of Hil­ton Head, died Wed­nes­day, Jan­uary 9, 2019, at the Vet­er­ans’ Victory House in Wal­ter­boro, SC. He was born Novem­ber 14, 1926 in Pitts­burgh, PA. In 1944, Tom en­listed in the Navy and served in the Pa­cific The­ater.

He at­tended Kiski Prepara­tory School, Deni­son Univer­sity, and com­pleted busi­ness cour­ses at the Univer­sity of Vir­ginia, the Univer­sity of Michi­gan, and Whar­ton Busi­ness School.

His ca­reer be­gan with Bor­den Dairy Com­pany in 1952. In 1960, he joined Owen­sCorn­ing Fiber­glas, re­tir­ing in 1986. Upon re­tir­ing from OCF, he held a two-year po­si­tion with A. C. Lead­bet­ter un­til start­ing his own fi­nan­cial/in­sur­ance busi­ness in 1992, Hamil­ton In­vest­ment As­so­ciates.

He was an ac­tive mem­ber of St. Luke’s Church, serv­ing as trea­surer of the Vestry and var­i­ous other com­mit­tees.

He is sur­vived by his wife of 43 yrs., Dale J. Hamil­ton, his brother, Richard S. Hamil­ton, sis­ter, Suzanne H. Scruggs, and nieces and neph­ews. He was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents, Thomas E. Hamil­ton and Mar­garet Ste­wart Hamil­ton. Ser­vices will be pri­vate.
