Irene Ann Caruso

CRESSKILL - Irene Caruso (nee) O’Leary age 86 of Cresskill, NJ, died on November 3, 2023. Beloved wife of Henry Caruso. Devoted mother of Josephine, Michael, Peter, Terry and her husband Jay Seiders, Kathy and her husband Paul Scotellaro, John and his wife Alyson Silverman-Caruso. Cherished grandmother of Julia Scotellaro, Joey Scotellaro, Kaylee Seiders, Jasper Caruso and Leo Caruso. Dear sister of Martha and her husband Mohamed Hassan, Susan and her late husband Thomas Delaney, Michael O’Leary and his wife Judy, Thomas O’Leary and his wife Sharyn. Devoted aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Irene was born in the Bronx and spent her adult life in Cresskill raising her family and caring for her grandchildren. She was an active parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church in Demarest and a member of the Women’s Cornerstone group. Irene enjoyed singing in the adult choir and participating in many church events. She was a devoted, faithfilled woman who loved unconditionally and welcomed everyone with open arms. Irene was a die-hard Yankees fan and the undefeated household champion of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She self-taught herself the piano and volunteered her time playing for the elderly. She loved to garden, read, and enjoyed a good mystery book or movie. The family will receive visitors at St. Joseph’s Church, 573 Piermont Road, Demarest,NJ, on Thursday, November 9, 2023, from 9-10:30 AM immediately followed by a funeral mass at 10:30.
