- William “Bill” Charles Rick, III,

67, of Ridgewood, New Jersey, Vienna, Virginia, and most recently of Asheville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on February 11,

2024, surrounded by his loving family. Bill was a 1975 graduate of Ridgewood High School, where he lettered in varsity football and basketball. In 1979, Bill graduated from Saint Michael’s College in Winooski, Vermont, with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, and played football and rugby.

Bill went on to have a successful career as an Executive of Sales and Marketing in the technology industry. After a prestigious 30+ year career, Bill retired to Asheville, NC, where he loved living in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.

Bill will be remembered by his friends and family members for his love of the 5 G’s:

Grandfathering his two adored grandchildren, gardening, grilling, golfing at Asheville Country Club, and of course the New York Giants football. Passed on from his father, Bill continued to be a season ticket holder of the Giants and shared the tradition with his children and grandchildren. Countless hours were spent with his son, daughter, and most recently, his grandchildren, watching every game during the season, no matter how bad, and always discussing next year’s strategy during the off-season. His passion and excitement for these “G’s” were so contagious that his children, grandchildren, and loved ones couldn’t help but embrace them as their own passion.

In addition to his father, William Rick, Jr. of Ridgewood, NJ, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Kenny Rick, of Lake Worth, Florida.

Left behind to cherish his memory is the love of his life and wife, Donna Arrington-Rick. Bill also leaves his mother, Joan Rick of Hendersonville, NC, his son, Andrew Rick and his wife, Tiana and their children, Elliana(8) and JJ(6) of North Andover, MA, a daughter, Casey Rick of Ashburn, VA, and two sisters, Debra O’Connor and her husband Kevin of Asheville and Susan Atwell of Lake Worth, Florida, as well as, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and long-time friends.

A service will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Maryrest Chapel Mausoleum at the Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ.
