RINGWOOD - Edward Schroeder went home to be with the Lord on February 23, 2024 at the age of 88. He passed at the Villa Marie Claire in Saddle River NJ, surrounded by family. He was predecease­d by his loving wife Gail, parents Edward and Anna, brother-in law Keith, and nephew Brett. He is survived by his children Rosemary and husband Charles, Susan and husband Mark, Edward and former wife Judy, sister Ellen and sister in- law Theresa. Edward had 6 grandchild­ren, and 2 great grandchild­ren.

Born in Jersey city NJ, Ed grew up in Ramsey NJ and graduated from high school there. He attended trade school and started a life long career as a sheet metal worker in Local Union 13. His work ethic was unparallel­ed, working extremely hard throughout his life as providing well for family was his lifelong mission.

He married the love of his life, Gailie very shortly after high school and the two were truly inseparabl­e until her passing in 2012. They moved to Ringwood after they married and remained there for the rest of their lives. While together, they lived life to the absolute fullest.

Ed will be remembered and greatly missed for his wit, hilarious stories and sayings. He was always at the ready with a repertoire of jokes that were flawlessly delivered. He loved all things food and was a welcomed guest at any table. He was a wildlife enthusiast with an expansive knowledge of nature. He was also an extremely gifted artist and painter.

Both he and Gail opened their home and hearts to everyone. Their home will always be lovingly remembered as an open invitation to a place of joy, fun, love and endless hospitalit­y.

Visitation will be March 15th 5:00pm-7:00pm at the Emergence Church in Ringwood. Donations to Autism Speaks or The Villa Marie Claire Hospice in Saddle River are greatly appreciate­d.
