WOODLAND PARK Robert “Bob” Kowalik, 81, of Woodland Park, passed away on March 27, 2024. He was born in Orange, NJ on June 14, 1942 to the late Michael Charles and Wanda “Pauline” (Podszed) Kowalik. Robert proudly served in the US Army from 1964-1968 with an E3 PFC rank. He graduated from Kearny High School and then earned a degree from RETS for electronic­s. He later worked for UPS where he earned a Circle of Honor Award of Valor in 1992 and then worked as a custodian of Passaic Valley High School in Little Falls until his retirement. Bob was a proud Post Commander for the Woodland Park American Legion Post #238. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Yankees, Giants, and Devils. Bob had a charismati­c personalit­y and people knew him fondly for his ability to make others smile wherever he went, for which he will be truly missed. Bob was the beloved husband of Doris (Gagan) Kowalik. He was the adored father of Jack Kowalik and Kim Marie Muller, and her husband Robert.. He was the cherished grandfathe­r of Christiana and Andrew Muller and Brayden, Channing, and Reese Kowalik. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 2, 2024 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2023 at 10:30am at Holy Cross Church, 220 Browertown Road, Woodland Park, NJ. Guests may meet at Santangelo Funeral Home at 9:30am. Burial will follow at East Ridgelawn Cemetery in Clifton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the American Legion Post #238, 410 Mt.
