Margaret “Evelyn” Lawler

NEW MILFORD - Margaret “Evelyn” Lawler (nee Maye) of New Milford was 86 years old when she passed away Sunday, May 5, 2024 after a brief illness. Margaret was born and raised in Dromard West, County Sligo, Ireland. She immigrated to the United States in 1958 to begin her new life in the Bronx. It was in the Bronx she would meet her husband, Patrick Joseph Lawler. The couple would later marry and move to New Milford where she has lived since 1968. After raising her children Margaret went on to work for Panasonic in Secausus, Pascak Valley Hospital in Westwood and in her later years she was a Crossing Guard for the children in Tenafly.

Margaret was predeceased by her beloved husband Patrick Joseph Lawler in 2009. She was the loving mother of Patricia McCormick and her husband Martin, James Lawler and his wife Pamela, Ann Marie Lawler, and Terrence Lawler and his wife Megan. Margaret was predeceased by her brother Jackie Maye and survived by her dear siblings Ita O’Donnell, Mona Travers and Liam Maye. She was predeased by her granddaughter Kiera Ann and survived by her cherished grandchildren Kaitlyn, Nicholas, Megan, Rory, Madison, Sarah and Kelsey.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Boulevard Funeral Home, 1151 River Road, New Milford, NJ on Tuesday, May 7th from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm and 8 pm. The following day, Wednesday, a Funeral Mass will be celebrated in her memory at 11:00 am in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 300 Elm Street, Oradell, NJ.
