A fifty year resident of Pembroke, MA, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2023, at the age of 87. Although a resident of Pembroke, Anna’s heart always remained in her hometown of Charlestow­n. Anna enjoyed her childhood on Polk Street in the Charlestow­n projects. Anna was a proud graduate of Charlestow­n High School, before attending Beth Israel School for Nursing. Anna leaves behind David A. and Heidi of Olde Lyme, CT, Daniel and Deborah of Plymouth, Thomas and Lauren of Marshfield. A beloved grandmothe­r to Jerimiah, Amanda, Brittany, Joshua, Alexandra, Nicole, Alyssa, Michaela, David and Adrienne. Caring great-grandmothe­r to Alanah, Andre, Leila, Savannah, Andrew, Sydney, Chase, Ryder, Bridget, Adaline, Olivia, Landon, Levi and Oliver. Sister, Roberta Linehan. Ann was predecease­d by her loving husband of fifty-nine years, David H. Smith; loving parents, Robert and Anna M. Burke; and beloved brother, Robert Burke.

Anna enjoyed spending time at the library, eating sweets and spending time with her family. Anna spent her career as a dedicated nurse and devoted caregiver. While she loved being a nurse, Anna’s true passion was her family. Anna was a devoted wife, mother of three, grandmothe­r of ten and great-grandmothe­r of fourteen. Anna inspired a lifelong love of reading in her children, grandchild­ren and generation­s to come.

Visitation will be held at the Sullivan Funeral Homes, 2 Maquan Street (corner Route 14 and 58), HANSON, on Friday, December 15, from 10 to 10:45 AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM at Holy Apostles Parish - St Joseph’s, 1 Maquan Street, Route 14, Hanson. Burial to follow at Pembroke Center Cemetery.
