MA, died peacefully, February 9, 2024. She was 88 years old. Jean, a proud Canadian, was born in Saint John, New Brunswick and grew up in Blacks Harbour, New Brunswick, before moving to the U.S. in her early twenties. Jean, whose dream job was being a mother, also enjoyed traveling, line dancing, artistic painting, spending time at the beach, baking for friends and neighbors, reading, scratch tickets, jigsaw puzzles, word seeks and dominos.

Loved by many for her thoughtful­ness and kindness. She was the daughter of the late Senator J.J. Hayes and Maude Muriel (Logan) Doone. Devoted wife of the late Kenneth J. Quill. Loving mother of Elizabeth D. Quill and her husband, Kevin M. O’Neill of Quincy, Kenneth Sean Quill of Jupiter, FL and Alison J. Quill and her partner, Christophe­r B. Kennedy of Boston. Jean is survived by her sister, Sheila LeBlanc of Calgary; and was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph H., George “Hayes”, Allen E.J.; and five sisters, Shirley Marie Doone, Lorna Elizabeth MacGillivr­ay, Dorothy “Eileen” Rothernel, Maude Muriel “Doonie” Woodcock and Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Ready. Adoring step-grandmothe­r to Tess and Aubrie O’Neill, and aunt to many nephews and nieces throughout the U.S. and Canada.
