Age 95, a longtime resident of Revere, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Edith V. (DeMatteo) Amodeo with whom he shared 35 years of marriage, until her passing in 1993. He was born in Boston on October 16, 1928 and was the son of the late Edward and Anna (DeStefano) Amodeo.

Eddie was raised in East Boston and settled in Revere in 1964. He attended Peterson School of Steam Engineerin­g and went on to work for the Massport Authority until his retirement. He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII, followed by service in the U.S. Army as an MP after the war. Eddie was a member of the Sons of Italy and Patriots Club in Revere. In his spare time, he enjoyed walking Nahant

Beach, exercising at the YMCA in Lynn and going to Mohegan Sun. He enjoyed the company of dogs, especially Puppy Girl, Max, and Mosely. Most of all, he cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchild­ren.

Eddie’s family would like to thank the care and love shown by his homecare providers, especially Debbie, Tom, Sue, Rolanda, Abu and Edwin.

Eddie leaves his children, Camille McCormick and her husband, Clark of Reading and Edward Amodeo and his wife, Elizabeth of Georgetown; his grandchild­ren, Sarah McCormick, Ryan McCormick, Maria Amodeo, Allison Amodeo and Edward H. Amodeo; and many nieces, nephews and godchildre­n. He was predecease­d by his siblings, Joseph Amodeo, Mary Catino and Victor Amodeo.

Visiting Hours will be held on Monday, April 1, 2024, from 5 to 7 pm, at the Vertuccio Smith and Vazza Funeral Home, 262 Beach St., REVERE. Funeral from the funeral home on Tuesday, April 2, at 10 am, followed by his Funeral Mass at St. Mary of the Assumption Parish, 670 Washington Ave., Revere, at 11 o’clock.
