‘Til Death Do Us Art 2016, a second exhibit featuring “art partners for life,” at Studio B opens with a reception on Friday, Oct. 21 from 5 to 8 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public.

Susan Biebuyck, gallery director for Studio B, met with enthusiasm and interest from artists following the gallery’s 2015 unique exhibit ‘Til Death Do Us Art that featured fine art created by 8 couples who lived together as husbands and wives or in committed relationships in the hills of Oley.

“Berks County is a hotbed for art. We’ve been lucky to find many couples who both make their living in the arts. In some cases, both are painters or photographers; in others, one partner sculpts or creates jewelry while the other finds expression in fiber art or music. Generally, couples either feed off each other’s ideas or are opposites. Just like in life. The exhibit will be a lovely example of exactly that –‘art echoing life.’” Biebuyck noted.

Participating in the exhibit are Martha and Jay Ressler, Amy Stevens and Wil Lindsay, Leigh Kane and Rick Salafia, Lisa Gauker and Josh Steffy, Melissa Strawser and Val Bertoia, Sharon McGinley and Dan Varner, Beth Stone and Steve Fabian, Lyn and Beth Camella-Rich, Hector and Maria Zelidon, Kimberly and Jonathan Stemler, Kristen Egan and Damian Ives, and Sandy and Bob Wood.

“And I’m hopeful to continue this series as I continue to meet and discover additional partners in the arts,” she added.

“Jane [Stahl, Studio B’s Director of Community Relations] has an idea for a book featuring our artist couples to include survival skills needed for artists in relationships and vignettes about how they met and continue to support and inspire each other. We are always looking for ways to connect our artist members with members of our community. Communitybuilding, as Jane calls it,” Biebuyck concluded.

The exhibit runs until November 27, 2016. Studio B is open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., during classes or workshops, or by appointment. Contact Susan Biebuyck at sbiebuyck@ mac.com for additional details. Studio B, located in the heart of historic Boyertown, is the home of the Arts and Activities Alliance, a committee of Building a Better Boyertown, a nonprofit Main Street program dedicated to revitalizing small towns.
