Chamber gets into holiday spirit at Luncheon & Silent Auction
Event sponsor Berks Surveying & Engineering celebrates 25 years in business
The Northeast Berks Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual Holiday Luncheon & Silent Auction at Berkleigh Golf Club, Kutztown on Dec. 2.
Event sponsor Berks Surveying & Engineering, Inc., Fleetwood, celebrated its 25th anniversary during the luncheon. Berks Surveying has been a chamber member for 24 years.
“I was working for UGI as an engineer when I discovered land surveying. Even today, I am still infected with the land surveying bug,” said owner Bruce T. Rader, P.E., P.L.S., Berks Surveying & Engineering, Inc. “I really enjoy it after all these years.”
Growing up on a farm, Rader graduated from Brandywine Heights High School. He studied engineering at Penn State and served in the U.S. Army. He worked for UGI and MetEd.
“When I started my business in 1991, Donna (his wife of 39 years) was my only employee,” said Rader. “She supported me in good times and bad. She keeps me in line to this day.”
During the Holiday Luncheon, Rader announced the promotion of Robert Hain from project manager to vice president.
“Rob has been with me for 18 years. He does very nice drawings,” said Rader, noting that some were on display at the luncheon.
He also recognized the contributions of office manager Cindy CunardHogan, who has been with the company for 12 years.
“She keeps us all in line,” said Rader. “Cindy is great to work with and she takes excellent care of our wonderful clients.”
