11th Annual Festival of Trees set for Dec. 1

Boyertown Area Multi-Service will be hosting the 11th Annual Festival of Trees Open House on Friday, Dec. 1. This fundraisin­g event will take place from 4-9 p.m. at Boyertown Area Multi-Service, 200 West Spring St.

The Festival of Trees is an enchanting holiday open house event that has grown throughout the years with more than 2,000 in attendance in 2016. Each year, trees are donated and decorated by the community — individual­s, families, businesses, clubs and organizati­ons.

Admission is free and the event is enjoyed by people of all ages. The Festival of Trees is also a stop on the Boyertown Holiday House Tour, but you do not need to participat­e in the Holiday House Tour to attend the Festival of Trees event.

Event attendees can look forward to going through an array of gorgeous Christmas trees and enjoying refreshmen­ts while they listen to sounds of the season. Throughout the evening, visitors will have the opportunit­y to win a door prize and to purchase raffle tickets for chances to win one of the completely decorated trees.

For 44 years, Boyertown Area Multi-Service Inc. has provided resources and services to meet human and community needs throughout our 211 square mile service area within southeaste­rn Berks and northern Montgomery counties.

Multi-Service provides case management, food assistance through its Community Food Pantry, energy assistance, resources and referrals. Multi-Service also has a Meals on Wheels program and provides office space for numerous partner agencies. The largest program Multi-Service provides is The Center at Spring Street, a program for individual­s 55 years of age and over. The center offers numerous recreation­al and educationa­l activities as well as a hot, delicious lunch prepared on-site every weekday.

Proceeds from this event support assistance to individual­s and families in need through the many programs and services Multi-Service offers.
