Wellness Coun­cil re­ceives grant from United Way for stu­dent schol­ar­ships

The Wellness Coun­cil of Boyertown will present schol­ar­ships to nine lo­cal stu­dents to be used for var­i­ous classes and lessons at five lo­cal busi­nesses. These in­clude Stu­dio B, Funky Frets, Mas­ter Kim’s Black Belt Academy, Vi­sion Dance and the Mu­sic Stu­dio of Pa­tri­cia Keith.

“We are de­lighted to help stu­dents par­tic­i­pate in draw­ing classes, pi­ano and gui­tar lessons, bal­let, tap, tae kwon do classes and vo­cal lessons that they might not oth­er­wise be able to ex­pe­ri­ence,” said Deb­bie Ber­to­let, Ex­ec­u­tive Di­rec­tor. “Many thanks to the United Way of the Boyertown Area for the grant.”

The grant pro­vides stu­dents with the op­por­tu­nity to par­tic­i­pate in var­i­ous pro­grams that will help them learn new skills, de­velop con­fi­dence, work with men­tors and build friend­ships.

The Wellness Coun­cil of Boyertown is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and has de­vel­oped health-re­lated pro­gram­ming and ac­tiv­i­ties, in­clud­ing a Wellness Fair, Com­mu­nity Field Day, Se­nior Walk­ing Bingo and the Thanks­giv­ing Day 5K Tur­key Trot in mem­ory of Cliff Reigner.

The Wellness Coun­cil’s com­mu­nity track at Me­mo­rial Sta­dium will even­tu­ally add the Jerry Karver Track gate. With your help and sup­port, we will con­tinue to bring pro­gram­ming to fam­i­lies and in­di­vid­u­als in all ar­eas of wellness.
