Wellness Council receives grant from United Way for student scholarships
The Wellness Council of Boyertown will present scholarships to nine local students to be used for various classes and lessons at five local businesses. These include Studio B, Funky Frets, Master Kim’s Black Belt Academy, Vision Dance and the Music Studio of Patricia Keith.
“We are delighted to help students participate in drawing classes, piano and guitar lessons, ballet, tap, tae kwon do classes and vocal lessons that they might not otherwise be able to experience,” said Debbie Bertolet, Executive Director. “Many thanks to the United Way of the Boyertown Area for the grant.”
The grant provides students with the opportunity to participate in various programs that will help them learn new skills, develop confidence, work with mentors and build friendships.
The Wellness Council of Boyertown is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and has developed health-related programming and activities, including a Wellness Fair, Community Field Day, Senior Walking Bingo and the Thanksgiving Day 5K Turkey Trot in memory of Cliff Reigner.
The Wellness Council’s community track at Memorial Stadium will eventually add the Jerry Karver Track gate. With your help and support, we will continue to bring programming to families and individuals in all areas of wellness.
