Bears girls soccer scores six in win over Upper Merion

BOYERTOWN 6, UPPER MERION 0 » Six different players registered goals for the Bears in a PAC divisional crossover game against the Vikings.

Emma Elwell, Samantha Goffice, Raeanne King, Morgan Kline, Sierra Landis and Bria Smith all scored for Boyertown while Mikayla Moyer and Aimee Toscano were each credited with an assist. Mackenzie Fatzinger and Cassidy Landis combined for four saves in the shutout. SPRING-FORD 1, BOYERTOWN

0» Hope Flanegin, assisted by Ella Curry, scored the game’s lone goal in SpringFord’s PAC Liberty victory over Boyertown. Riley Wallace had the shutout for the Rams while Boyertown counterpar­t Maddie Gallagher was excellent in keeping Spring-Ford to a single score.

Boys soccer

Scoring in each half Thursday, the SpringFord boys soccer team dispatched Boyertown, 2-0, in their Pioneer Athletic Conference Liberty Division matchup.

Spring-Ford scored first in the 18th minute after Gabe Locke worked a ball into Brett Gulati, who went far post for a 1-0 lead. The Rams scored again when Gulati played a cross to a streaking Colin Trainor, who headed home a curving goal in the top left corner. Ray Fortebuono (four saves) and the Rams defense kept a clean sheet for the fourth game in a row. BOYERTOWN 3, DANIEL

the Bears’ non-conference win over the Blazers.

0» Kate Crist figured in on three goals during the Ram’s win over the Bears in a Pioneer Athletic Conference Liberty Division matchup.

Crist scored twice and added an assist on Alexa Collins’ game-opening score. Shannon Kennedy, Mac Maloney and Olivia Wilson all added scored for Spring-Ford while MaryPat McKenna and Angelina Pinciotti each had assists. Ashley Della Guardia made five saves in the shutout while Boyertown keeper Laura Wigard finished with 13. BOYERTOWN 10, UPPER MERION 0 » Trin Smith netted a hat trick while Laura Wigand made seven saves to preserve the shutout in the Bears’ win over the Vikings in cross-divisional PAC play.

Alyssa Vu, (assist), Kelsi McDevitt, Remi Lloyd, Lauren Eves (assist), Lindsay Flack (assist), Mackenzie Baro and Alex Morgan all notched goals for Boyertown in the win.

UPPER PERKIOMEN 208, BOYERTOWN 211 » Zach Rozanski carded a match-low 39 to lead the Tribe to a PAC win over the Bears at Macoby Run (Par 36).

Brett Miller followed with a 40 while Macauley Swenk and Deion Doperak each finished at 42 before Zach Gehman rounded out the scorecard with a 45. Zach Little paced Boyertown with a 40 while John Engle (41) and Brad Fenstermak­er shot a 42.

PERKIOMEN VALLEY 211, BOYERTOWN 214 » Tori Bruno’s round-best 47 was the difference in the Vikings’ PAC win over the Bears at Twin Ponds G.C. (Par 35).

Julie Neild carded a 51 while Alexa Hansen (56) and Reagan Parks (57) rounded out the scorecard for Perk Valley. Emma Hauser and Emily Burger each carded a 51 for Boyertown while Kylie Wood fired a 52. DOWNINGTOW­N EAST 196,

BOYERTOWN 257 » The Cougars turned in the day’s five lowest scores to roll up a PAC win over the Bears at Whitford C.C.

Ava O’Sullivan and Liddie McCook shot 48s for East to share low-score honors. Boyertown’s leader was Emily Burger at 59.

BOONE 0 » The Bears won this non-league pairing by set scores of 25-17, 25-12 and 25-16.

Boyertown (6-1) was led by Emma Ludwig (six kills, eight assists, three aces). Julia Smith had nine digs and Taylor Jones added four assists, three digs and three kills. UPPER MERION 3, BOYERTOWN 1 » The Vikings won their PAC match with the Bears, rallying from an opening-set loss 26-24. UM’s set victories were by scores of 25-11, 25-20 and 25-15.

For the Bears (2-1, 6-2), Taylor Jones had 10 kills, four aces and nine assists; Julia Smith added nine digs and two assists; Emily Wolfe had nine kills, six digs, four aces and two blocks; and Emma Ludwig chipped in with 11 digs, 11 assists, two kills and two aces.
