Pickup truck strikes dump truck on Price­town Road, flees scene

State Po­lice re­sponded to a hit-and-run crash at the in­ter­sec­tion of Price­town Road (Route 12) and Blan­don Road (Route 73) in Ruscombmanor Town­ship, Berks County, on Sept. 24.

State Po­lice at Read­ing re­port that at 6:56 p.m., a Pen­nDOT dump truck trav­el­ing east on Price­town Road was stopped at the in­ter­sec­tion in the left-turn lane when a pickup truck trav­el­ing west on Blan­don Road at­tempted to make a left turn onto Price­town Road. Tak­ing the turn too wide, the pickup truck en­tered a yard and then struck the dump truck’s front driver side.

The dump truck’s driver’s side fuel tank was rup­tured and fuel sub­se­quently spilled onto the road­way, po­lice said.

The pickup truck fled the scene and con­tin­ued west on Price­town Road. The ve­hi­cle is de­scribed as a gray/blue pickup truck with a lift kit and pos­si­bly hav­ing a Michi­gan regis­tra­tion. The pickup truck had heavy front end dam­age and air bag de­ploy­ment.

No in­juries were re­ported.
