State police seek hit-and-run driver
Pickup truck strikes dump truck on Pricetown Road, flees scene
State Police responded to a hit-and-run crash at the intersection of Pricetown Road (Route 12) and Blandon Road (Route 73) in Ruscombmanor Township, Berks County, on Sept. 24.
State Police at Reading report that at 6:56 p.m., a PennDOT dump truck traveling east on Pricetown Road was stopped at the intersection in the left-turn lane when a pickup truck traveling west on Blandon Road attempted to make a left turn onto Pricetown Road. Taking the turn too wide, the pickup truck entered a yard and then struck the dump truck’s front driver side.
The dump truck’s driver’s side fuel tank was ruptured and fuel subsequently spilled onto the roadway, police said.
The pickup truck fled the scene and continued west on Pricetown Road. The vehicle is described as a gray/blue pickup truck with a lift kit and possibly having a Michigan registration. The pickup truck had heavy front end damage and air bag deployment.
No injuries were reported.
