Funds raised help purchase gear, equipment for Shoemakersville firefighters
The Shoemakersville Fire Company Auxiliary will be holding a fundraising event in November. Flamin’ Dick and the Hot Rods will be returning to entertain Nov. 17.
Funds raised from the event will go toward the purchase of gear and equipment for Shoemakersville firefighters and the community, as well as benefit one of their firefighters.
“The purpose of the event is to purchase needed items for the firefighters in protecting the Borough of Shoemakersville and Perry Township residents and their property. We will also be helping one of our active firefighters who has been diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s disease,” said committee chairman Susie Lutz. “We hope this event will show the camaraderie of the firefighters and Auxiliary working closely together for one common goal to enrich the lives of the firefighters and make their work easier with new equipment.”
