Blessing of the Animals

Ryerss Farm for Aged Equines on Route 23 in Warwick Township was the site of the 28th annual “Blessing of the Animals” event. The non-denominational service is the result of a 12th and 13th century custom started by a Catholic Monk, Saint Francis of Assisi. Rev. Will Humes, pastor of Coventryville United Methodist Church, performed the blessings for horses residing at Ryerrs and area animals brought in to the farm by their owners.
