• Blue Marsh Lake conducts “Trees For The Fishes” through Jan. 12 at the State Hill and Sheidy boat ramps. Drop off former Christmas trees at either location. Trees must be clean of all decoration­s, such as tinsel and fake snow. The trees will be recycled as fish structure at various locations in the lake. • Blue Marsh Lake control tower dam tour will be held Jan. 11 from 10 a.m.-noon. Meet at the Visitor Center parking lot. Get a behindthe-scenes look at how the dam functions. Be prepared to go up and down numerous steps.

• A volunteer work day at Blue Marsh Lake is planned for Jan. 18 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Meet at the Conference Center and help Blue Marsh staff conduct spotted lanternfly egg scrapings. A brief informatio­nal program on egg mass identifica­tion and management practices will be held. Register by calling 267284-6551 or by emailing Brianna.L.Treichler@usace.army.mil.

• Berks County Hunters Fighting Hunger will conduct its annual food drive to benefit the Reading Salvation Army food programs on Saturday Jan. 18, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Volunteers will collect frozen game, fish, fowl, frozen grocery meat, canned goods, non-perishable­s and cash donations. A $1 donation can be converted by the Salvation Army into nearly 20 pounds of dry foods, etc. Drop-off locations: Neversink Gun Club, Cabela’s, Crossroads Family Restaurant, Christman Meats, Redner’s (Kenhorst Plaza) and Monarch Fire Company. If a donation needs to be picked up, call chairman Dave Hollenbach at 484-256-2763.

• Moment of Peace Adventures will conduct its annual Sportsmen’s Banquet Feb. 8 at Leesport Farmers Market. MOPA is a Berks County non-profit organizati­on that helps children with severe physical disabiliti­es or life-threatenin­g illnesses. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
