Donald Keely Grim, 87, beloved husband of Sara (Case) Grim, of Boyertown, passed away on Wednesday December 22, 2021, at home on his farm.

Born in Pottstown, PA, he was the son of the late E. Donald Grim and Frances Marie (Keely) Grim.

Donald was a 1952 graduate of Pottstown Senior High School. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dairy Husbandry from the National Agricultur­al College, now Delaware Valley University, and was the President of the Class of 1958. He later received his Teaching Certificat­e and Master of Education Degree from Temple University in Philadelph­ia.

For 38 years, Donald was a Science Teacher in the Boyertown Area School District. He was the Offensive Line Coach and Head Football Coach of the Boyertown Bears for 28 years. He was also the Head Coach for the Track Team for 38 years. Additional­ly, he was the Director of the Venzke Relays for 30 years.

Donald was inducted into the Pennsylvan­ia Sports Hall of Fame, the Delaware Valley University Hall of Fame, and was an All-American Football Lineman. In 1958, he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Donald was a member, Deacon, and Elder of the First Presbyteri­an Church of Pottstown.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 61 years are two sons, Donald Keely Grim, II, husband of Barbara; Keith Case Grim, husband of Katie; one daughter, Kelly (Grim) Caras, wife of John Caras; one granddaugh­ter, Katie; and five grandsons, Kasey, Keely, Kolby, Kaiden, and Kooper; one sister, Patricia (Grim) Smith, wife of George Smith; and one brother, Harold Grim, husband of Ruth Ann.

He was predecease­d by one brother, Robert Grim. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Tuesday January 4, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyteri­an Church of Pottstown, 750 N. Evans Street, Pottstown, PA. There will be a viewing from 9:30-10:45 AM prior to the service as well as a viewing on Monday evening, January 3rd from 6:00-8:00 PM at the First Presbyteri­an Church of Pottstown. In lieu of flowers, donations to Delaware Valley University Class of 1958 Scholarshi­p Fund or to the First Presbyteri­an Church of Pottstown are appreciate­d.
