Beary Loved offers romantic stroll through Boyertown
New event features music, performers, themed drinks, shopping, restaurants and night at the movies
Building a Better Boyertown hosts Beary Loved, A Valentine’s Stroll Through Boyertown on Feb. 12 from 1 to 5 p.m.
“We’re really excited to host this event and show off so many great shops, attractions, and restaurants in our town,” said Jillian Magee, Main Street Manager, Building a Better Boyertown.
This event was inspired by how much the community loves Boyertown.
“The passion that the community feels is something special and we thought that a Valentine’s Day event would be a great way to welcome people outside the community to come into town and see just why we love it here so much,” she said.
The new event offers couples a romantic and fun date in downtown Boyertown. A variety of musical performers and dancers will be stationed throughout the streets for guests to enjoy. There will also be DIY bouquets available, streetside poetry, and couple caricatures and silhouettes.
“Many people travel for their Valentines Day plans, but so many don’t know that we have an amazing opportunity for the perfect Valentine’s Day weekend right here in Boyertown,” said Magee.
Couples can take a stroll through Lover’s Lane and Tunnel of Love and take advantage of fun, romantic photo opportunities. Attendees ages 21 and older can head over to the rail yard and visit the pop-up bar, Love Potion No. 9, for Valentine’s Day-themed drinks. Stop in at one of Boyertown’s many unique shops to find that perfect gift. Then, conclude the day at a restaurant before seeing a movie at The State Theater.
“Our hope is that with the draw of this event, many of our small businesses will benefit and encourage people from outside the community to come back again and again to explore what we have to offer,” said Magee. “With the success of this event, Building A Better Boyertown plans to turn this into a monthly First Friday event, which is something that the community has been requesting for quite a while.”
Beary Loved is free to attend. Some activities including the Love Potion No. 9 pop-up bar, DIY bouquets, streetside poetry, and couple caricatures and silhouettes may incur a fee. For more information, visit www.boyertownpa.og.
