Fern V. Imbody
On January 6, 2023 Fern Virginia Imbody (nee Fronheiser) entered eternal rest with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at the age of 95, while surrounded by family. She was born on February 28, 1927 in Bechtelsville, PA.
She is reunited with other departed loved ones, including her parents Harvey and Helen Fronheiser, stillborn daughter, grand-daughter Tammy Swoyer, and Grandmother Annie M. Erb.
She is survived by the love of her life and best friend Daniel Webster Imbody Sr. They met in May 1946. They were united in marriage a month later and were blessed to spend 76 years with her soul mate.
Lovingly remembered by her children: Eugene Imbody, wife Sharon; Christine Boice, wife of the late Charles Boice; Nancy Colegrove, husband Richard; Doreen Pasquel, husband William; Sheryl Anne Trout; Barbara Filosa, wife of the late Michael Filosa; Daniel Imbody Jr., wife Lisa; brothers Laverne Fronheiser, husband of the late Dorothy, Kenneth Fronheiser, husband of Marguerite, and Grant Fronheiser, husband of Sallie; 21 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; 15 great great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Most importantly, she was the matriarch of her family, beloved wife, devoted mother to her children, grand-children, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. At the age of 4 years old sang solo performances in church and was a devoted choir member, played the accordion, and piano. Won multiple academic awards, member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Manatawny chapter; was fluent in two languages; avid party planner; was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Oley, PA and at the Good Shephard United Church of Christ in Boyertown, PA. We know God is pleased to have one of his most kind, caring, loving, and generous angels back in his arms where she belongs. She will be sorely missed by those who had the honor to know her during her time on this earth.
A funeral service was held on Friday, January 13, 2023, at 11:00AM at Salem United Church of Christ (307 Covered Bridge Rd, Oley, PA 19547) with Pastor Bob Witmyer officiating. Burial followed at Hill Church Cemetery in Boyertown. A viewing was held on Thursday, January 12, 2023, from 6:00-8:00PM at Catagnus Funeral Home (1020 E. Philadelphia Ave., Gilbertsville, PA 19525).
