Mother Teresa Regional Catholic School gets National Blue Ribbon award
Mother Teresa Regional Catholic School (MTC) is a recipient of the 2022 National Blue Ribbon by the U.S. Department of Education. The award is recognition of the dedication by MTC educators, staff and families.
Every year, the U.S. Department of Education seeks out and celebrates great American schools, schools demonstrating that all students can achieve to high levels. The coveted National Blue Ribbon School award affirms the hard work of students, educators, families and communities in creating safe and welcoming schools where students master challenging and engaging content.
Since 2012, MTC has been committed to creating an environment that embraces all types of learners and promotes growth academically, spiritually and emotionally for students in grades pre-K through 8th.
“Our teachers and staff have worked very hard through the years to ensure our students are receiving an education that is worthy of this remarkable honor,” said Christine Pagan, principal. “We are so proud to have received this accomplishment for our school and for the entire community.”
The program recognizes public and private elementary, middle and high schools based on their overall academic excellence or their progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups.
MTC has been selected as a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. A Blue Ribbon School of Excellence is among the state’s highest performing schools as measured by state assessments or nationally normed tests. Only 297 honorees were recognized nationwide, and MTC is one of only 10 schools in Pennsylvania
to earn this distinction for 2022.
The National Blue Ribbon School flag gracing an entry or flying overhead is a widely recognized symbol of exemplary teaching and learning.
