GRCA is accepting nomination­s for annual business awards

READING, PA >> Nomination­s are once again being accepted for the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance’s annual Business Excellence Awards. The nomination period opens today, Jan. 17 — and all nomination­s must be submitted by March 10.

The Business Excellence Awards feature two categories separating businesses by annual revenue.

Category 1 represents businesses with $1 million in annual revenue for the past three years; while Category 2 is reserved for businesses with $250,000 in annual revenue for the past three years.

For the second year, businesses that are not headquarte­red in Berks County but can demonstrat­e that at least 50% of annual revenue is generated from Berks will be eligible to apply. That change to the program was implemente­d last year.

To be eligible, companies must:

• Be a for-profit, public or privately held.

• Be headquarte­red in Berks or demonstrat­e that 50% of company revenue is generated from Berks.

• Have annual revenues of at least $1 million (Category 1) or $250,000+ (Category 2) in each of the three most recent fiscal years.

• Be a Greater Reading Chamber Alliance member.

• Submit supporting documentat­ion for revenues with nomination form.

Nomination forms will once again only be sent through email and available online and not mailed as in years past, according to a press release announcing the nomination period.

All nomination­s forms are due by March 10. Late submission­s will not be accepted. For each award, nominated businesses are ranked according to revenue growth. KPMG LLC will handle tabulating the rankings.

All Business Excellence Award winners will be recognized at the Annual Dinner on May 23 at Santander Arena, via a video montage tribute with special recognitio­n to the Top 3 in each category.

on the list in 2021. American Barber and Beauty Academy took the top spot in the category for companies with revenues of more than $250,000.
