Boyertown adds recent greats Wood, Harvey, Campbell to Hall of Fame
The Boyertown wrestling program recently inducted three of its best in recent history to its Hall of Fame.
Former PIAA champion Jordan Wood and former state medalists Jakob Campbell and Gregg Harvey were honored before Wednesday night’s rescheduled match against Owen J. Roberts.
The trio – Wood and Harvey are 2016 graduates, Campbell 2017 – were integral pieces in the Bears finishing runner-up in the PIAA Class 3A Duals in 2016.
Wood put together one of the most prolific high school careers in area history, racking up a 149-5 career record with a PIAA championship in 2015 as a junior after finishing state runner-up twice as a freshman and sophomore. He was 42-1 in his senior year before injury ahead of regionals did not allow him to defend his state title.
Wood went on to Lehigh University where he became a two-time All-American and the first five-time EIWA champion in history as a heavyweight.
Harvey went 168-40 for his high school career, including 52-8 in his senior season when he placed fifth in Pa., his second state medal.
Harvey was a three-time NCAA Championships qualifier at the University of Pittsburgh. He was All-ACC academic in 2021.
Campbell concluded his high school career 156-32 with three seasons of singledigit losses. He was a three-time PIAA medalist, finishing 3rd at 106 as a sophomore and fourth at 126 as a senior.
Campbell continued to wrestle at Bucknell University but saw much of his Bisons career affected by injury. His lone full season was as a sophomore when he went 15-12.
