State Sen. Martin tours Morgan Truck Body’s Berks manufacturing facility

-

State Sen. Scott Martin (R13th Dist.) learned more about the innovative, industry-leading work of Morgan Truck Body during an April 19 tour of the company’s Morgantown manufacturing facility and corporate headquarters.

Morgan Truck Body, a manufacturer of lightand medium- duty freight and refrigerated van and truck bodies in North America, has 14 manufacturing locations and eight service centers in the United States and Canada. The company employs more than 2,700 team members who design, build, sell, and support the most reliable truck bodies in the world.

Martin noted that the manufacturing industry is one of the most important sectors of Pennsylvania’s economy.

“Morgan Truck Body is a perfect example of the kind of manufacturing company we need in the region to create family-sustaining jobs and improve our overall quality of life,” Martin said. “It is impressive how they have remained on the cutting edge of technology in their industry, and I appreciated the chance to meet their team and learn more about their work.”

“We appreciate Sen. Martin’s visit to gain insight into the new technologies and innovative approaches that Morgan Truck Body is employing to stay at the forefront of truck body design, building and upfitting,” said Corby Stover, President and COO Morgan Truck Body. “We strive to be an employer of choice and continue to seek talented individuals to join our team.”

During the tour, Morgan

Truck Body showcased its Innovation Lab, where the company is developing its next phase of product evolution, designed to achieve extended range, improved aerodynamics, and a lighter-weight dryfreight body. It comes on the heels of last year’s first-phase concept body that introduced lighterweight materials and situational awareness elements, many of which are now available.

Three Morgan truckbody innovations were highlighted during NTEA Work Truck Week in Indianapolis last month.
