Robert (Bob) G. Lewis
Robert (Bob) G. Lewis, 80, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away December 20, 2018, peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family. Originally from Jackson, Michigan, Bob and his wife, Cindy, moved to Sarasota for retirement in 2006. Bob was a wellknown and skilled barber for over 54 years. He owned a barbershop in Jackson, Michigan where he gave many first haircuts to his long-standing clients’ children and grandchildren. He also was a real estate broker in Michigan. After arriving in the Sarasota area, he cut hair at the Braden River Barbershop in Bradenton. Bob had a kindhearted spirit and was loved and respected by all who knew him.
Bob is survived by his wife of 32 years, Cynthia, his sister, Shirley (James) Buckhannon, brother-inlaw’s, Dan (Liz) Kennedy, Tracy (Renee) Chaffee, his ten children; Michele (George) Bock, Robert (Cathy) Lewis, Jr., Harvey (Theresa) Ambs, Pamela Perry, Tamela (Walter) Dent, John Lewis, Cami (Gary) Oliver, Coni (John) Sullivan, Michelle Hommerding, Melissa (Mike) Schooley. Including nineteen grandchildren, sixteen greatgrandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Along with two precious Yorkies; Polo, his sidekick, and Sami. Bob was preceded in death by his first wife, Jacqueline. He was deeply loved and will be missed by all. A special thank you to Tidewell Hospice for the comfort and loving care provided to Bob and his family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 3PM at the Bayshore Gardens Community Church, 6228 26th Street West, Bradenton, Florida 34207.
