Congress must prepare to oust the president

The Buffalo News - - OPINION - Charles D. Carter JoAnn M. Calandra

It is time for the Senate and the House to seriously consider removing President Trump. He has lost it. He is not qualified to lead.

He ignores the reports and advice of his Intelligence departments. He removes sanctions on Russia, our adversary. He follows his “gut” and decides to pull our troops out of Syria, leaving our Kurdish allies to fend for themselves, ignoring the advice of his military adversaries. Who would this benefit? Russian President Vladimir Putin and Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad.

He shuts down the government to get his way, ignoring the effect he causes on federal employees and our economy. The shutdown threatens our safety and security as well. Why? To please his base, Anne Coulter and Rush Limbaugh.

His vanity is all he cares about. He has no intention to truly negotiate or consider any plans the bipartisan committee will submit for his consideration to avert another shutdown, or declare a state of emergency.

He continues to lie with regard to the denuclearization of North Korea, reaching a trade agreement with China. He lies and says the wall is already being built – another lie.

He is ignorant and clueless to the fact that he is being manipulated and laughed at by Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. All they have to do is flatter his fragile ego. Now he wants to send some of our troops to Venezuela, and more troops to the southern border.

Health insurance, infrastructure, our military, new immigration laws, etc. Zero is being done!
