AWARDS: The Town of Ham­burg Depart­ment of Youth, Recre­ation and Se­nior Ser­vices is seek­ing nom­i­na­tions for the Michael J. Dun­don Ser­vice to Youth Award, the Mary T. Blakeslee Ser­vice to Youth Awards and the Char­ac­ter Coach Awards. Nom­i­na­tions are ac­cepted through April 5 and nom­i­na­tion forms are avali­able on­line at www.ham­burg-youth-rec-se­niors.com or at the depart­ment of­fice at the Ham­burg Se­nior Com­mu­nity Cen­ter. Com­pleted forms should be re­turned to the at­ten­tion of Tim Jerome or emailed to [email protected]­burgny. com. The awards ban­quet will be held at Michael’s Ban­quet Fa­cil­ity in Ham­burg on May 7. Reser­va­tions will be ac­cepted un­til May 1 at a cost of $30/per­son or $300/ta­ble.

BASE­BALL: The Town of Ham­burg Depart­ment of Youth, Recre­ation and Se­nior Ser­vices is ac­cept­ing reg­is­tra­tion for its Youth Base­ball Skills De­vel­op­ment pro­gram. The pro­gram is open to chil­dren aged 6-8 and will be held Thursday evenings from 7:55-8:15 p.m. be­gin­ning March 14 in the Donny Thiry Gym at the Ham­burg Se­nior Com­mu­nity Cen­ter. Reg­is­tra­tion is $30 per child and can be done in per­son at the recre­ation of­fice, via phone at 646-5145 or on­line at www.ham­burg-youth-rec-se­niors.com.

FOOT­BALL: De­fen­sive Co­or­di­na­tor for Mor­risville State, Ed Raby and Of­fen­sive As­sis­tant Gar­rett McLaugh­lin from Bates Col­lege, an Or­chard Park and Syra­cuse grad­u­ate, will be the fea­tured clin­i­cians at the WNY Foot­ball Coaches’ meet­ing, Monday, March 11, 7:30 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, 33 Le­gion Park­way in Lan­caster. GOLF: The Friends of the NY44 Health Ben­e­fits Plan, Inc. will host its 10th an­nual char­ity golf tour­na­ment on July 18 at the Chest­nut Hill Coun­try Club. This year’s event will be held in Mem­ory of Dr. Dar­leen Micha­lak and pro­ceeds will ben­e­fit Dance­abil­ity! Reg­is­tra­tion is $100 per golfer. HOCKEY: The 44th an­nual Dip­pin’ Dots Spring Hockey League is ac­cept­ing reg­is­tra­tions for the up­com­ing spring/sum­mer sea­son at Hol­i­day Twin Rinks and Leisure Rinks. RUN­NING: The Chau­tauqua Strid­ers will host the 10th an­nual St. Pa­trick’s Dash on Saturday, March 16. The USATF-cer­ti­fied three-mile race be­gins at 9:15 a.m. and starts and fin­ishes at the North­west Arena in Jamestown. Mul­ti­ple male and fe­male age groups will be of­fered with awards given to the top three male and fe­male fin­sh­ers in each class.
