Legette-Jack at her best come tournament time

University at Buffalo women’s basketball coach Felisha LegetteJack has an uncanny knack of pushing all the right buttons come tournament time.

She did it four years ago when the UB women won the Mid-American Conference tournament as a No. 8 seed. She did it again this season in directing the Bulls to a third NCAA Tournament berth in four years.

The Bulls are the 10th seed in the Albany Region and will face seventh-seeded Rutgers on Friday in Storrs, Conn.

On the way to the NCAA Tournament, FLJ directed another masterpiece in UB’s semifinal upset of top-seeded Central Michigan in Cleveland.

“If you always do what you’ve always done, you always get what you’ve always got,” LegetteJack exulted after the 82-77 win against CMU. That’s her spin on the adage, “Insanity is doing the same thing over again and expecting a different result.”

CMU ranked No. 11 in the nation
