SUV driver arrested after two are run down on East Side
A Dutton Avenue woman was arrested at her home after two men told police she swerved her SUV up onto the sidewalk and lawn to hit them Saturday evening while they were walking by a small church on Northland Avenue near Purdy Street, police said.
The two men, ages 29 and 30, were walking near the Bible Chapel Church when the woman, whom they identified as Vinnicia Vance-Ivey, 31, swerved her 2015 Hyundai Tucson over the sidewalk and across the lawn, striking them both.
The men were transported to Erie County Medical Center.
Vance-Ivey was charged with seconddegree assault, a felony and misdemeanor criminal possession of a weapon, which police did not identify.
No reason was given for the assault.
