UPS em­ployee is ac­cused of steal­ing iPhone from pack­age

An em­ployee of the United Par­cel Ser­vice fa­cil­ity on Packard Road has been ar­rested, ac­cused of steal­ing an iPhone from a pack­age he was load­ing onto a truck for de­liv­ery, Town of Ni­a­gara Po­lice re­ported.

Mark Gratto, 38, of Wil­low Av­enue, Ni­a­gara Falls, told po­lice that he had worked for UPS for sev­eral months and was re­cently “throw­ing” a pack­age onto a truck for de­liv­ery when it fell and broke open, re­veal­ing a ship­ment of iPhones in­side.

He re­port­edly told po­lice that he did not think any­one would no­tice one of the phones miss­ing, so he took the iPhone 6 val­ued at ap­prox­i­mately $550. He was charged with pe­tit lar­ceny.
