The Buffalo News - - LOCAL NEWS - – Mike Kurilovitch

A valet driver for the Seneca Niagara Casino mistakenly gave the keys to an elderly man’s car to another person, who promptly drove off with the vehicle Friday afternoon, according to police.

The victim, an 81-year-old Tonawanda resident, told Niagara Falls Police he went to pick up his car from the casino’s valet parking service around 6 p.m., according to a police report. He saw the valet driver pull the car out and exit the vehicle before briefly talking to a male who approached him. The valet then gave the keys to that man, who drove off just before the victim could protest.

Police said the valet explained that the man said the vehicle was his, even though he did not have the valet ticket for it — claiming he had given it to another valet inside the casino.
