Holiday Inn Express plan for Pendleton is revised

The Buffalo News - - LOCAL NEWS - – Thomas J. Prohaska

With issues ironed out with the Town of Pendleton over the placement of a driveway to South Transit Road, local hotelier Ramesh Patel brought his plan for a 77-room Holiday Inn Express back to the Niagara County Industrial Development Agency Wednesday.

Patel is seeking a 10-year tax break on the four-story hotel at South Transit and Tonawanda Creek Road North, now estimated to cost $7 million, $700,000 more than when it was first presented two months ago.

The proposed tax breaks would save Patel’s company, Omkara Hotel LLC, $1.72 million over 10 years, the NCIDA staff estimated.

The NCIDA will schedule a public hearing on the incentives before a likely vote May 8.
