Man charged with pos­ses­sion of fen­tanyl, crack co­caine

A Buf­falo man who was caught by law en­force­ment with fen­tanyl and crack co­caine was charged Fri­day in fed­eral court with pos­ses­sion with in­tent to dis­trib­ute sched­ule I and sched­ule II con­trolled sub­stances, ac­cord­ing to the U.S. At­tor­ney’s Of­fice.

Mar­cello Wig­gins, 36, faces a max­i­mum penalty of 20-years in prison if he is con­victed on the charges.

Ac­cord­ing to pros­e­cu­tors, law en­force­ment in­ves­ti­ga­tors re­ceived a tip that Wig­gins was in pos­ses­sion of a large quan­tity of fen­tanyl and crack co­caine while us­ing a taxi cab to dis­trib­ute the drugs. On Thurs­day, in­ves­ti­ga­tors ob­served Wig­gins in a rear pas­sen­ger seat of the taxi and seized a scale with residue and plas­tic bag con­tain­ing sev­eral smaller bags with sus­pected fen­tanyl and crack co­caine from the ve­hi­cle, pros­e­cu­tors said.
