Ea­gles over­power Flames

Lake Shore is the only un­de­feated girls lacrosse team in West­ern New York, and it may take a su­per per­for­mance to knock off the Ea­gles.

Wil­liamsville East, which had lost only twice and re­turned six starters from last year’s sec­tional fi­nal­ists, fig­ured to be a dif­fi­cult op­po­nent on Tues­day, es­pe­cially on its home field.

Lake Shore (9-0) routed the Flames, 24-4, tak­ing a 14-4 half­time lead and shut­ting out East the rest of the way. The Ea­gles are alone atop the Divi­sion II league in Sec­tion VI.

East’s pre­vi­ous losses were to Wil­liamsville South and on Mon­day to Wil­liamsville North de­spite three goals each by Lyla Militello and sopho­more Court­ney Ma­clay.

Amherst, which has only a loss to Divi­sion I Lan­caster to mar its record, de­feated Sweet Home, 15-8, be­hind a 12-point per­for­mance by Grace

Van Buren, who had nine goals and

St. Joe’s Kellen Pulera, who broke the Ma­raud­ers’ ca­reer points record on Mon­day, scored six more goals Tues­day in his team’s 19-14 vic­tory over Chris­tian Broth­ers Academy of Syra­cuse on St. Joe’s home field.

Hunter Parucki had three goals and two as­sists in the vic­tory, the ninth of the sea­son for the un­beaten Ma­raud­ers.

Eden se­nior lacrosse player Colby Sroda has signed his Na­tional Let­ter of In­tent with St. Bon­aven­ture.

A mid­fielder, Sroda scored 23 goals as a ju­nior for Eden, which was the Class C runner-up in Sec­tion VI. Sroda ranks in the top 20 of his class.
