Payne graduates from FBI National Academy
Capt. David Payne of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office, right, graduated Sept. 13 from the 273rd session of the FBI National Academy. Payne was selected by the FBI from a large pool of applicants from around the world to attend the exclusive 10-week executive program, a press release states. Only the top 1 percent of law enforcement executives are selected to attend this program. He spent 10 weeks in Quantico, Va., at the FBI Academy where the training focused on graduate level academics, physical fitness and learning from the experiences of the other law enforcement professionals enrolled in the program. The students in this session hailed from 25 countries and 48 states. Payne was able to maintain a perfect 4.0 GPA in the graduate-level classes, which are accredited by the University of Virginia. “Captain Payne is a true asset to the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office and the citizens of Calvert County,” Sheriff Mike Evans (R) said in the release. Presenting the diploma is FBI Director Christopher Wray.
