Sheriff’s office hosts promotions ceremony Dec. 22
Calvert County Sheriff Mike Evans (R), left, held a promotion ceremony Dec. 22 in the auditorium of the St. John Vianney Church in Prince Frederick. Several sheriff’s deputies and correctional deputies earned promotions, taking effect Dec. 24. They were joined in the auditorium by several dignitaries, friends and family members. Evans was also able to honor the employees of both the sheriff’s office and the detention center who were promoted in the last two years but were not able to be recognized at an earlier ceremony. Evans “pinned” the badges on the promoted deputies. They were also greeted on stage and congratulated by Lt. Col. Dave McDowell, Maj.
